The outstanding success of a Bachu Busnes/Speed Networking event at The Nant Hall Prestatyn lately suggests that the Local Businesses Community is thriving in Prestatyn and the adjoining coastal areas. With companies ready to get out and find business contacts of their own accord.
The interest was so great that the room booked was slightly cramped to hold the 80 + companies who showed interest in attending the event. Nia Môn Local Supplier Champion said "The turnout and interest has been overwhelming, the evening is based on the Speed Dating idea, and we hope that many companies here tonight will have formed new business relationships in the area. We very often come across businesses who buy supplies and services from a very long way away when there is a local supplier on their doorstep – it’s better for all involved."
By special request Arwel Staples, Denbighshire County Councils Strategic Procurement Manager came along to take part and to explain what exactly Denbighshire County Council buy from companies and how to find the opportunities, and be successful in supplying them.
By half way through the evening some companies were already reporting success. One new cleaning company – "Angels about the House" had struck up a deal with a local hotel! Many other companies from plumbers to promotional goods, agencies to firework shops were reporting very positive feedback, and that they had formed new good contacts which could easily turn into future contracts.
The winner of a bottle of champagne was AJW Photography from Abergele – first business card out of the hat – who specialise in commercial photography. The event was organised by Menter a Busnes on behalf of The National Assembly DEIN "Local Supplier Development Project", Denbighshire County Council Supporting Business and the Denbighshire Enterprise Agency. The Local Supplier Development Project helps local companies network, to develop companies to win tenders and contracts on a local and national scale etc. If you’re interested in receiving our free support and advice please click onto www.contractshop.co.uk or contact Nia Môn on 01248 672608 nia.mon@menterabusnes.co.uk
