A photographic memento!

Wyn Jones, is a keen eisteddfod visitor, but he doesn’t attend as a competitor. He is the owner of a successful photographic company ‘Lluniau Llwyfan’, which ensures each competitor receives a photo of their experience on Wales’ national eisteddfodau stage.

With two eisteddfodau to his bow, it was a natural progression that he offered his services to the third main national eisteddfod in Wales, Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod.

"I’m looking forward immensely to venture to Llangollen’s International Eisteddfod this summer," explains Wyn, 41 from the Conwy Valley.  "Being awarded such a substantial contract is another step in the company’s progression, and it will certainly bring financial benefits together with a higher company profile.  Working with people from different cultures, ethnic backgrounds and religions will be a great experience, and with so much going on at the Eisteddfod, the photos are sure to be colourful and vibrant!"

The Local Supplier Development Project successfully linked both companies, and offered a local company’s service to the International Eisteddfod.

Nia Môn, Menter a Busnes explained: "It is imperative that organisations across Wales realise that large and small companies can offer specialist service within their chosen fields.  My job is to act as a link between people, and to encourage and market high quality services within Wales.  These services are often available on your own doorstep."

"We’re looking forward to working closely with Lluniau Llwyfan during the Eisteddfod week (4 - 9 of July)," explained Gwyn L Williams, Llangollen International Eisteddfod’s Chief Executive.  "As we’re celebrating our sixtieth birthday this year, these photos will catalogue the Eisteddfod’s history for the next 60 years.  With technology moving at such a pace, our hope is that hundreds of competitors will leave Wales with a photo of their performance on Llangollen’s stage.  What could make a better memoir'"

With the Urdd National Eisteddfod behind him, there’s no resting for Wyn and his team during the summer.  With one full time employer and eight part time staff during the busiest summer months, there’s enough to keep Wyn occupied without his camera in his hand these days:
"Unfortunately, as the business grows, using the camera becomes much less frequent.  The most difficult task was making the decision to start up on my own.  I decided to venture after considering the move for 5 years.  As a fairly experienced climber, I realised I was taking a much higher risk climbing north Wales’ rocky mountains than starting up my own business!"
