
On the opening day of this year’s Royal Welsh Show, businesses were given the opportunity to meet and network at the Menter a Busnes stand. The event was organised in conjunction with the Local Supplier Development Programme targeting Welsh business.
This event proved to be a great chance for local businesses to meet and discuss possible collaborations and future business opportunities. This is one of the key aims of the European funded Local Supplier Development Programme.
Guto Carrod, Supplier Champion for the programme in the Powys region said "The event proved to be a success in bringing public sector organisations and businesses closer together, which is one of the primary aims of the programme. Our goal is to encourage and help local businesses secure contracts with local public sector organisations".
Gareth Llewellyn, Business Development Executive with the Welsh Assembly Government in Mid Wales said…"The Local Supplier Development Programme is an important public sector funded tool whereby SME's can gain access to the skills and knowledge needed to win public sector contracts."
"The work being done by a private company, Menter a Busnes, as the Mid Wales champions of the programme shows how public sector support can be employed to assist the private sector develop their businesses."
The programme also provides practical support to businesses in winning public and private sector contracts.
Graham Element, Managing Director of Cambrian Interiors of Builth Wells said "Attending the event was very worthwhile. I managed to gather valuable information, and spoke to a number of key public sector support organisations".
