Contract Shop was set up to encourage inter-trading between local businesses. The project was originally delivered by enterprise agencies across North Wales. The project has expanded over the past few years to cover, Mid and South West Wales. The Local Supplier Development Project will enable the delivery across the whole of Wales, ensuring that the Contract Shop remains a key tool in delivering a service to businesses across Wales.

The service provides an excellent opportunity for businesses to promote their goods and services, and to become aware of the opportunities and potential trade that exists locally.

The main reason for success of the project is that previously businesses were unaware of the range of goods and services available to them locally. As a consequence of this much of the raw materials, goods and services were sourced from outside the area, thus limiting the growth of the local economy.

Contract Shop has helped redress this balance and has actively been involved in encouraging local businesses to make use of their extensive database of local businesses and to help them find good and services as well as in promoting their own products.

This has resulted in a cohesive network of local buyers and suppliers who actively use this information for competitive advantage......

This new website will be available to businesses across Wales, and a team of dedicated Supplier Champions and Administrators will be able to provide additional assistance to businesses.
