A dehumidifier is a household machine that works specifically to remove moisture and humidity in the air. It comprises of a fan compressor that draws the air into the machine, a cooling coil responsible for cooling the air thus removing the moist and a heater to maintain the temperature and a container where collected water is found. A dehumidifier works in two different ways, by cooling the room to cut off moisture such as refrigeration; and by absorbing moisture to a drying material.
Absorption or Adsorption
Dehumidifier eliminates the moisture by drawing the moisten air of the room into a duct that passes through a revolving wheel. The wheel is made of absorbent material that absorbs the moist air and leaves the moist into the material. The absorbed air is then moved by a fan and dried by a hot electric heating component located underneath the duct. The absorbing wheel dries out by rotating into a hot blower, and then the dried air is blown out to the room.

Refrigeration could work as a dehumidifier, this is made possible by sucking the warm moist air to the machine that passes through a trellis, and this air is then moved by a fan that draws the air inside. The humid air passes through several cold pipes arranged in a line in which a coolant circulates and is responsible in cooling down the air.
As the air is dried, it then passes through a heater that regulates the air back to its original temperature.
The regulated air is then blown back into the room through another trellis. The collected moisture from the air drips into a collecting container with a floater.
The said container is located at the bottom part of the machine. When the floater reaches the maximum water load; a switch is then turned on an indicator lamp that implies that the machine is already filled up and ready to be emptied.
There are several kinds of dehumidifier in the market, all of these units though they differ in size or features have the same purpose. It aims to illuminate humid/moist in the air that may cause an unpleasant smell, damp clothes, moist walls of the room and molds forming. It gives us the feeling of cleanliness, safety and pleasing.
